Guys: do your partners or kids tell you they need or want more from you, but you don't really know what they mean or how to do that?

We get how hard it can be to find help, especially for men and boys who never asked for it in the first place.  And when you do seek help, often what you get is not what you need. Many counselors don’t “get” guys and our unique needs and ways of relating. We understand the male perspective, and we work to form connections with you and your family that will lead to growth and change.

Do you feel anxious, empty, or out of control? Do you get angry with loved ones? Or, the opposite, do you stonewall them? Do you feel like you have to “hold it together” but sometimes feel like your life is slipping apart? Are you having difficulty in relationships at home or work? Has someone suggested you get help? Counseling can help lighten the load and make life’s challenges easier to handle.

It takes courage to see a counselor. Many other men have. It can help to talk to someone outside your house, who you aren’t living with or parenting with, to vent and get some space to think through important decisions in your life.

Many men come to counseling to help sort out some of the pressures they are under. It can help you think more clearly, and act more calmly. Other reasons guys come in are because they want to:

• relieve tension and stress

• make better decisions

• get along better with their wife and kids

• discuss fears about the present and future

• gain a better understanding about why they do certain things learn to be assertive about their needs Individual therapy is a one-on-one meeting with a therapist to discuss and resolve problems.

Confidentiality and privacy are extremely important and taken very seriously. It is up to you who knows or doesn’t know that you are coming to counseling

While we specialize in men's mental health, we in no way exclude other populations from services; we are open to working with all people within our scope of practice
